Local Students Graduate from UVM

BURLINGTON – UVM President Suresh Garimella conferred degrees on an estimated 3,383 graduates at the university’s 222nd Commencement ceremony. Speaking on the spirit of excellence, the Honorable Sethuraman Panchanathan, director of the U.S. National Science Foundation, delivered the keynote address.

The following local students earned bachelor’s degrees from UVM: Samuel Fought of Calais graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; Zymora Davinchi of East Calais graduated with a bachelor’s in Public Communication; Ian Keene of Marshfield graduated with a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering; Dakota Brosky of Plainfield graduated with a bachelor’s in Mathematics.

Sally Weinstein of Plainfield graduated with a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Preschool; Ciara Benfield of Wolcott graduated with a bachelor’s in Business Administration and Esther Demag of Wolcott graduated with a bachelor’s in English.

Also, Matthew Lafountain of Wolcott graduated with a bachelor’s in Health and Society; Gabriella White of Wolcott graduated with a bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering; Elizabeth Brown of Craftsbury graduated with a bachelor’s in Elementary Education: K-6; Gibson Moffatt of Craftsbury graduated with a bachelor’s in Professional Nursing; Sirena Anair of East Hardwick graduated with a bachelor’s in Art Education; William Douglas of Hardwick graduated with a bachelor’s in Political Science.
