Bring the HA Bell to Hazen Union

Share article

To the editor:

I am writing in support of bringing the Hardwick Academy school bell to Hazen Union School.

I graduated from Hardwick Academy in 1945 and my six kids all graduated from Hazen Union. They are our two schools. I would think our community would like to see its two schools remembered together.

These two schools are the pride of Hardwick. We are all proud of the history of Hardwick Academy and we are all certainly just as proud of the history of Hazen Union. These are our two great institutions.

I have lived in Hardwick for most of my entire adult life, raised my family here. I volunteered at the Hardwick Historical Society for over 20 years, so I certainly support both schools being able to share some history together. Why shouldn’t both schools be able to ring that bell.

We are always going to remember the history of our two schools and I think it would be great for the two schools to also share some history. That’s why I support the bell going up to Hazen Union.
