United Methodist Church in Greensboro Bend Closes

GREENSBORO BEND – It was with sadness that I read in the January 31 Gazette of the closing of the United Methodist Church in Greensboro Bend. Church members prepared many meals for eating in the downstairs common room. I remember especially the St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and the game suppers involving a variety of animals.

Donna Daniels on December 7, 2019, checks the serving table during the annual game supper which included rabbit, venison, wild turkey, bear, moose, muskrat and chicken.

The people who prepared the December 7, 2019, game supper for the church were, front row (left to right): Don Stryffler, Donna Daniels, Erna Bartlett, Doreen Bartlett and Jeremy Gonyaw; and back row (left to right): Mason Richardson, Jade Bell, Reliant Touchette, Caleb Stryffler and Jaxon LaFoe.

Many people attended the December 7, 2019, game supper in the ground floor common room of the United Methodist Church in Greensboro Bend.
