Solar Eclipse Party at Library

WALDEN — The Walden Community Library will hold a total solar eclipse party and bonfire on April 8 to witness and learn about the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. Totality will occur for just a few minutes starting at 3:28.

The library will be open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for learning activities, a backyard bonfire, and treats around the fire for the partial eclipse phases before and after as well.

Eclipse glasses will be available to use, and there will be other simple tools available to safely view and experience phenomena surrounding the eclipse. New eclipse and astronomy books will be available to peruse or borrow.

Vermont saw its last total solar eclipse in 1932 and won’t see another until 2106. The library building is behind the school at 135 Cahoon Farm Road, West Danville.
