BURLINGTON – As May approaches, the American Red Cross reminds eligible donors to keep the blood supply stable by giving blood or platelets in the weeks to come. Donors of all blood types – especially type O blood donors and those giving platelets – are crucial to keeping shelves fully stocked with blood products throughout the month.
Upcoming blood donation opportunities, April 29 to May 19, include Danville, April 29, noon to 4 p.m., Pope Memorial Library Comm. Center (the old bank building), 41 Rte. 2 West; Hardwick, May 7, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Hazen Union High School, 126 Hazen Union Drive; Saint Johnsbury, May 4, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., VFW St Johnsbury, 204 Eastern Ave.; Morrisville, May 3, noon to 5 p.m., VFW, 28 Pleasant Street; and Plainfield, May 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Plainfield Health Center, 157 Towne Ave.
Donors may book a time to give blood or platelets now by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling (800) RED CROSS or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
Sport Clips Haircuts, will give an email coupon for a free haircut for all who come to donate April 29 through May 31. Those who come to give April 29 through May 19 will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two and VIP racing experience to the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Races at Darlington Raceway Labor Day weekend, including entry to the Sport Clips racetrack hospitality tent and a $1,000 gift card.
