Donna and Brian Perry of Hardwick and their family were acknowledged by Hardwick Elementary School Principal William Deiss (right) on December 22, 2023 for donating a new scoreboard in memory of their son Richard “Rick” Perry. Rick, 13, passed away in 1988 of congestive heart failure. The former scoreboard for the Bobcats was donated 35 years ago in Rick Perry’s memory by donations given by the Hardwick community. Members of the Perry family in front of the scoreboard are his mom Donna Perry (third from left), brother Jeffrey Perry (fourth from left) and sisters (from left): Lisa Chalifoux, Jennifer Deyo, Michelle Cochran and Dorothy Perry, with the rest of their family standing behind them. Missing are his dad Brian Perry and sisters Elizabeth Perry and Holly Perry.
Vanessa Fournier graduated from Hazen Union School in 1973 and went to work taking photos in Bennington, then returned to Hardwick to work for Vin Zecchinelli of Farland Studio for several years. She started her own photo business in 1979. She's been in photography for over 50 years, working for The Hardwick Gazette for 44 years. She retired in 2023 and is still taking pictures for The Gazette because she still loves what she does.
