The Lena Jonsson Trio will perform on Thursday, March 21 at the Willey Building.

CABOT – The Lena Jonsson Trio will perform on Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m., at the Willey Building Auditorium.

On tour from Sweden, the Lena Jonsson Trio presents a mix of Swedish folk, jazz, American old-time, and electro-acoustic sounds. The trio includes guitarist Erik Ronström and bassist Krydda Sundström. The trio won Artist of the Year at the Swedish Folk Awards in both 2021 and 2022. Their latest album, “Stories from the Outside,” won a Swedish Grammis, the Manifest prize, Album of the Year by LIRA Music Magazine, and Song of the Year by Swedish radio in 2021.

Jonsson will give a workshop in Swedish fiddle Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Willey Building Auditorium. A Swedish fiddle jam session will follow the workshop from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., across the street at the Den at Harry’s Hardware.
