Hardwick Police Report

On February 13 at approximately 9:15 a.m. Police were notified by Jamon Renaud that three ladders had been stolen from the company truck at Consolidated Communications on Kellogg St. They were a 20 foot extension ladder, a 16 foot extension ladder and a 4 foot step ladder, all were fiberglass. The ladders were taken between the hours of 6 p.m., on February 12 and 7 a.m. on February 13. Anyone with any information can call the Hardwick Police Department at (802) 472-5475.

On Feb. 13, at approximately 12:22 p.m., Police were notified by a resident that their ATM card was stolen and used. He does not know by who. He had notified his bank, and their fraud department was looking into it.

On February 19, Ty Metevier, of Hardwick, came into the Hardwick Police Department to report a crash that had occurred on February 17 on Kate Brook Road. Metevier advised he was driving down Kate Brook Road messing around and lost control of his 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt and crashed. Metevier’s vehicle sustained front drivers side damage.

On March 3 at 9:40 p.m., the Hardwick Police Department was dispatched to Mountain View Road for the report of a car parked on the roadway for about 30 minutes.

Investigation determined the operator of the vehicle, identified as Chelcie M. Menard, of Hardwick, had been operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She had driven the car off the road into a small ditch where the vehicle had become stuck.

She was taken into custody without incident and processed for this offense at HPD. She was issued a citation to appear in court and will be charged with DUI#2, Criminal Refusal.

On March 3 at 12:16 a.m., the Hardwick Police Department was dispatched to “The Tubs” pull off on Vt. Rte. 14 in Woodbury for the report of an unresponsive person behind the wheel of a car there.

Investigation determined the female operator, identified as Jamie L. Billado out of Belvidere, had operated and been in physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of drugs. She as arrested for the offense and is being charged with DUI of drugs and for refusing to comply with an order from the court.

She was issued a citation to appear in court for these offenses.
