Rachel Schiffer (left), executive and artistic director of Greensboro’s Circus Smirkus, guided the June 11 talk by Rob Mermin, founder of Circus Smirkus, about his book “Circle of Sawdust: A Circus Memoir of Mud, Myth, Mirth, Mayhem, and Magic.” The book launch, held in the Hardwick Town House, was organized by Hardwick’s Galaxy Bookshop and was attended by 85 people, after which Mermin answered questions and signed copies of his book.
