GREENSBORO – Children may read to Daisy, the dog, on Tuesday Aug. 6. Daisy, a golden retriever and trained therapy dog, returns to the Greensboro Free Library.
Daisy has been a therapy dog since 2016. She is a 10-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever. Daisy, and her caretaker Nancy Ciaschini, volunteer with the Suncoast Humane Society, Englewood, Fla., visits many of the libraries in their area and other facilities. The usual goal of the reading with Daisy is to have the child read out loud to the dog, as this improves their reading skills. Contact Greensboro Free Library Youth Librarian Emily Purdy, at [email protected] or the library at (802) 533-2531.
