Senate Candidate Forum Aug. 29

ST. JOHNSBURY – There will be a senate candidate forum August 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum. The forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The candidates are vying for the Northeast Kingdom’s single-member Caledonia district: five-term state representative, Scott Beck, R-St. Johnsbury and Amanda Cochrane (D), executive director of Umbrella, the leading domestic violence advocacy organization in the Northeast Kingdom. Both are vying to fill the seat vacated by long-time Senator Jane Kitchel, who retired after 20 years in the legislature.
