
A fire on the roof of the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center Hazen Campus the afternoon of October 4 was extinguished by Hardwick and Greensboro Fire Departments. A chimney fire ignited organic debris on the roof.
HARDWICK – At 2:32 p.m. on October 4, the Hardwick Fire Department (HFD) was toned to 433 N. Main St. at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center Hazen Campus, (GMTCC-Hazen), for smoke coming from the roof of the building. The Greensboro Fire Department and Woodbury Fire Department were requested for mutual aid. HFD Engine 1 responded to the scene. On arrival, the roof was laddered to find an active chimney fire that had started organic debris on fire on the roof of the building. The debris was quickly extinguished and the Woodbury Fire Department was canceled. The Greensboro Fire Department continued to the scene to assist with extinguishing the chimney fire.
