HARDWICK – Halloween events are already underway at The Civic Standard’s Costume Swap Shop. Stop in whenever the open flag is out to browse the costume collection. Adding an unneeded costume to the collection is welcomed, but not required.

Everyone is welcome at the first annual Jack-o-Lantern contest, Sunday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. Bring a carved pumpkin. The panel of judges will choose winners in multiple categories, including “Best Kids Carving,” “Funniest,” “Scariest” and “Most Similar to the Town Manager.” Electric candles only please.

On Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31, step out of the cold and into The Civic. There will be tarot card read by Unseen Hands Tarot and tricks and treats of various kinds.

The Civic Standard is at 42 S Main St, Hardwick.
