Share article

STANNARD — The select board will hold a public hearing to review the proposed Town of Stannard Town Plan on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m., in the town office building.

The plan is a framework and guide for reaching community goals. It attempts to balance the range of competing interests and demands found in the town, to coordinate the pattern of development, the use of natural resources and to address both current and long-term needs. The policies stated within the comprehensive plan were developed to preserve and protect the town’s assets while providing a future vision for town officials, businesses and citizens of Stannard.

The plan affects areas within the Town of Stannard and contains policies and actions that could affect the adjacent towns of Greensboro, Wheelock, Walden and Danville in relation to forest blocks, habitat connectors, transportation networks, recreation and flood resilience.
The Draft Plan is available at: Stannard_Town_Plan_DRAFT_083124. Hard copies are available to review at the Stannard Town Hall and Smith’s General Store.
The Stannard Town Office is located at 615 Stannard Mountain Road.
