HIGHLAND RANCH, Colo. – Evalyn Cross Wood, known to her friends as Lyn, died in her home in Highlands Ranch, on November 2, at the age of 96. She was born in Hardwick, Vt., and graduated from Hardwick Academy. She attended the University of Vermont and the University of Connecticut, graduating with a degree in nursing. She was employed as head nurse (pediatrics) in Denver.
Lyn was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Russell L. Wood, her father, Harry Cross, her mother, Sarah Cross, and by her siblings, Edna, Burt, Lillian, Idabell, and Harold. She is survived by her loving children, Susan Wood of Tucson, Ariz., Daniel Wood of Portland, Oregon, (Annie), Cynthia Newton of Ione, Wash. (Jim), and Ann Schmitt, of Manhattan, Kansas (Dave), and by her granddaughters, Amanda, Stephanie, and Sarah.
