WOLCOTT – Lucas Edouard Menard, 48, and his wife, Tammy M. Menard, 53, died unexpectedly at their residence in Wolcott, November 27.

Lucas was born September 28, 1976, in Taunton, Mass., the son of Louis and Judith (Jones) Menard. He attended several schools and received his GED. Most of his childhood was spent in Walden. He was a great lover of the outdoors and reading. He always attended reunions on the family farm. He especially enjoyed the time that he spent with his brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and grandson.

Lucas was a member of the Capital Community Church in Montpelier and the Community Outreach Programs. He was a very kind soul; always willing to help those in need and sharing whatever he had. Volunteering for social causes and visiting with friends were very important to him. He loved animals, especially their dog, Sammy. Luc will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Survivors include his father, Louis G. Menard of Wolcott; a stepson, Justin Wright, and his grandson, Justin’s son Cain, both of Lisbon, N.H.; Luc’s siblings, Anita Lamotte and her husband Tracy, of Sheffield; Lia Menard of Wolcott; Louis J. Menard and his wife Kathie, of Walden; Ivan Menard and his wife Brenda, of Hardwick; Anna Menard of Washington and William McKinney and his wife Michele, of Watertown, N.Y.; a foster sister, Lee Trees of Indiana; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, all will feel the loss of his laughter.

Lucas was predeceased by his mother, Judith “Judi” Menard and his uncle, Clifford Jones Jr., whom he loved dearly.

Memorial Services will be held in the spring of 2025 at the family farm in Wolcott, with a date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Good Samaritan Haven, goodsamaritanhaven.org, a homeless charity of one’s choice, or to a local food shelf.

Arrangements are in the care of Dian R. Holcomb of Northern Vermont Funeral Service, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick. Online condolences are welcomed at northernvermontfuneralservice.com
