Hardwick Police Report

HARDWICK — On January 6, at 4:44 a.m., Hardwick Police were notified of a burglary at the Hardwick Kwik Stop. During the early morning hours, a male smashed the side door and entered the building. The male individual took cartons of cigarettes and lottery tickets. He also disabled the electrical meter. The suspect vehicle was a newer tan Toyota Tacoma 4 door truck.

Within the same time period, the same tan Toyota Tacoma truck was involved in another burglary at Authentic Log Homes, located on Route 14 N. in Hardwick. The male suspect broke into the back shop building and took several Husqvarna chain saws and gas cans.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On January 6 at 12:45 p.m., Hardwick Police, Fire Department and Hardwick Rescue responded to the area of 2591 Vt. Rte. 16 in East Hardwick for a reported two-car head on collision with entrapment. The investigation revealed that the vehicle, operated by Arthur Ling, of Hardwick, a 2012 Dodge 3500, was southbound and went left of center hitting a northbound 2010 Nissan Maxima operated by Ian Doig, of Sherbrook PQ, head on. The third vehicle, a 2021 Chevrolet Bolt, also northbound, operated by Michael Fix, of Sutton, swerved off the road to avoid collision with the vehicles but was not damaged. Doig had to be extricated and was transported by Hardwick Rescue for injuries incurred in the collision. There was no other reported injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

On January 9, at 9:45 a.m., Hardwick Police responded to a single vehicle roll-over crash on Rte. 14 N, one mile south of the Greensboro Town line, in Hardwick. Colin Netzley, of Hardwick, was traveling north on Rte. 14 in his 1997 Daih Atrai. He lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle went off the northbound side of the roadway, struck the ledge and flipped over onto its left side. There were no reported injuries in this crash, and no traffic citations issued.
