RIPTON – It was the final weekend of four for skiers from across the northeast to come together for ideally two days of racing. But the weather finally got the skiers when the final race was cancelled due to the extended snowstorm this past Sunday. Saturday’s 10 km individual start classic race went off without a hitch however. Former Craftsbury Ski Club skiers (CSC), Finn Sweet (UVM) and Jack Young (Colby) placed fifth and sixth in the highly competitive race that included all the Division 1 college skiers and several who have seen World Cup action. Craftsbury Green Racing Project skiers Joe Lynch was 34 and John Schwinghamer 52. For the younger CSC skiers, Sam Brondyke was 87, Sisu Lange 105, Zeb Whitlock 127, Asa Lloyed 128, Luke Murphy 134, Max Demaine 163 and Samuel Martin 180.
In the women’s 10 km race, CSC skiers included Quincy Massey-Bierman (Middlebury) placing 15th, Claire Serrano 39 (2nd Under 18 skier), Amelia Circosta 47, Tillie Lange 74, Sara Saligman-McGill 82, Anika Leahy 89, Emily Linton 102, Isabel Linton 103, Anya Moriarity 118, Anna Wetherell 137 and Elizabeth Mackenzie 146.
