NORTHEAST KINGDOM — HomeShare Vermont will provide more Vermonters access to home-sharing as a result of its recent expansion into Hardwick, Craftsbury and Greensboro. The nonprofit organization has brought its more-than 40 years of experience in matching hosts and guests for living opportunities to the Northeast Kingdom (NEK).
“We are excited to create access to home-sharing for some communities in the Northeast Kingdom,” HomeShare Vermont Executive Director Connor Timmons said. “Home-sharing has proven to be a great way for Vermonters to live more affordable and social lives. We believe in creating unique, meaningful matches between hosts and guests, and we hope to expand farther into the Northeast Kingdom soon.”
HomeShare Vermont’s matching process considers individual’s needs, interests and lifestyles for hosts and guests seeking services. With the addition of services in the Northeast Kingdom, HomeShare Vermont now serves communities in 11 counties across the state – Chittenden, Grand Isle, Franklin, Addison, Washington, Lamoille, Orange, Windsor, Orleans, Caledonia and Rutland.
HomeShare Vermont’s expansion into the NEK was made possible when the state of Vermont allocated increased funds for this purpose. This investment showed confidence in this proven model and enables HomeShare Vermont to continue to expand and provide support to hosts and guests.
HomeShare Vermont is a non-profit organization with 43 years of experience, providing a screening and matching service to people who have a home to share and others looking for an affordable place to live. HomeShare Vermont services are open to people of all ages and incomes. It is a funded agency of the United Way of Northwest Vermont and United Way of Addison County.
