DUI, Single Vehicle Crash
On May 11 at 11:08 p.m., the Hardwick Police stopped a vehicle on Wolcott Street near Granite Street for a stop sign violation. Investigation revealed the operator, identified as Kathryn Hansis, of Cabot, was under the influence of alcohol. Hansis was processed for DUI and issued a citation to appear in the Superior Court of Vermont, Criminal Division, Caledonia Unit, on June 2 to be arraigned for DUI.
On May 13, at 7:06 p.m., Hardwick Police responded to Craftsbury Road in Hardwick for a report of a single vehicle crash. The operator, Roscoe Allen, of Craftsbury, was operating a Chevrolet Silverado. Allen advised he swerved to miss a deer that was in his lane of travel. Allen was taken to Copley Hospital for injuries.
On May 15, at approximately 12:55 p.m., the Hardwick Police responded to Church Street near the Hardwick Town House for a welfare check on a male who may have been unconscious. The male was okay and identified as Michael Ewen. Ewen was intoxicated and has pretrial conditions of release specifying he does not buy, possess or consume alcoholic beverages. Ewen was issued a citation to appear at the Superior Court of Vermont, Caledonia unit, Monday, May 19 to be arraigned on the charge.
On March 30, Breanna Young reported that she was sexually assaulted in her Hardwick apartment. The investigation revealed that Young was not sexually assaulted as she initially alleged. Young was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court, Criminal Division, on June 2, to answer to the charge of False Information to Police Officers.
