DUI Drugs, Vehicle Crashes
On May 12, at 9:34 p.m., Hardwick Police responded to the Jiffy Mart in Hardwick for a report of an unresponsive male in a vehicle. Upon investigation Hardwick Police learned that the driver, Shawn Hickok, of Morrisville, had two warrants, a Vermont warrant and an extradited New Hampshire warrant. Shawn was also processed for DUI-Drugs and Driving with a Criminally Suspended License.
On May 15, at 2:18 p.m., the Hardwick Police Department was dispatched to the Hardwick Health Center for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a parked vehicle. The crash was reported by the owner of the parked vehicle, Megan McAllister of Greensboro Bend. The owner of the offending vehicle, Elizabeth Hodgson of Greensboro returned to the health center after noticing the damage. The crash resulted in minor damage to both vehicles and no injuries.
On May 18, at approximately 8:15 a.m., Hardwick Police were advised of a crash on Rte. 15 E near Quick Lane. The vehicle was traveling east when it went off the right side of the road. The operator, Melody Angolano of Walden, advised she fell asleep and her 2021 Nissan Sentra left the roadway and went into the field. The field had standing water and she could not get out. There was damage to the front and rear bumpers and possible damage to the undercarriage. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call Hardwick Police Department.
On May 18, at approximately 8 a.m., Hardwick Police were notified of a one-vehicle crash into a tree on East Church Street [in East Hardwick]. Jayson Foster of Walden, lost control of his 2005 Toyota 4Runner and went off the opposite side of the road and hit a tree. The Toyota suffered major front damage and Foster was injured and transported to Copley by Hardwick Rescue. The crash is still under investigation. On May 22 a 4:23 p.m., Hardwick Police responded to Center Road in Hardwick for a single vehicle crash involving a deer. Upon arrival police spoke with Elizabeth Brown, of Craftsbury, who was operating a 2024 Kia Sportage who advised she was traveling north when a deer ran out in front of her. The deer contacted the front driver’s side headlight and proceeded down the side of the vehicle.
On May 24, at 6:38 p.m., the Hardwick Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Vt. Rte. 15 near All Metals Recycling for a moving violation. Investigation revealed the operator of the vehicle, Gavin Ty DennisHuntley of Winooski, was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. DennisHuntley was processed for DUI and issued a citation to appear in the Superior Court of Vermont, Caledonia Division, to be arraigned for this offense.
