MARSHFIELD − The Vermont State Police is investigating a reported theft from a storage facility located at 8053 U.S. Rte. 2 in the Town of Marshfield. The theft occurred sometime before 2:37 a.m., on June 20. The following items were reported stolen: 2016 Alcom Snowmobile Trailer, 2016 Arctic Cat Bearcat 7000 Groomer Special – (Color: Orange), 2014 Polaris Ranger 800 Mid-Size, 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400 Motorcycle.

On July 18, at approximately 9:29 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Rte. 2 in the town of Marshfield. A preliminary investigation revealed that Travis Dashnow, of Fairfax, was traveling northbound on U.S. Rte. 2. He collided with a vehicle which was stationary on the roadway at the time of the crash.
While speaking with Dashnow at the scene, Troopers observed indicators of impairment. Dashnow was subsequently arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
Following processing, Troopers obtained and were granted a search warrant authorizing the collection of a blood sample from Dashnow. Dashnow subsequently refused to comply with the terms of the court-authorized warrant. As a result, he was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on August 28 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the above charges.
CRAFTSBURY − On July 14, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Dylan Kinsey, of West Glover, reported a number of his tools were stolen from a job site on Black River Road in Craftsbury. The tools reported stolen include a Makita air compressor on wheels, Hitachi chop saw, Makita hand-held leaf blower and accompanied batteries. It’s believed these were taken between the evening/night of Friday, July 11 and morning of Monday, July 14. PLAINFIELD – On July 14, at approximately 7:37 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a citizen dispute at a residence in the town of Plainfield. Upon arrival, Troopers spoke with both the victim and the accused. Subsequent investigation revealed that Kaylee Sevene, of Calais had an active instate warrant for the following charges: 13 VSA 2502 – Petit Larceny $900 or Less; 28 VSA 302 – Violation of Probation (X5); 13 VSA 2575-1 – Retail theft $900 or Less.
For the order of the warrant, Sevene was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 15 to answer to the above charges.
