CABOT − On Friday, August 8, an evening of English barn dances will be held for the community in the Willey Building, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.. Live music will be provided by local musicians. Non-dancers are welcome to come and listen.
English dances are similar to American contra dances, but with some different figures and less swinging.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Ceilidh dances have no gender roles and are well-suited to families. Karen Mueller-Harder will teach and call all the easy to learn dances.
Admission is on a sliding scale, with nobody turned away for lack of funds. Water is provided, or bring a water bottle. Admission is half-price for those who bring a portable fan to share.
