Motor Vehicle Crashes, Outstanding Warrant, Shoplifter
On July 19, at approximately 7:51 p.m., Alex Maldonado of Greensboro Bend was arrested for driving under a criminally suspended license. Maldonado was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court Criminal Division on August 18 at 8:30 a.m.
On July 21, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Jayden Wheeler, of Wolcott, was involved in a single motor vehicle crash involving two loose horses on the roadway in the area of 2138 Vt. Rte. 15 W. The vehicle sustained minor contact damage to the front driver’s side headlamp and quarter panel. Both horses were successfully recovered and are reported to be in good health, only sustaining minor injuries.
On July 24, at approximately 1 a.m., the Hardwick Police, while assisting the Vermont State Police, determined that an involved party in this incident, Timothy O. Magee, of West Glover, had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. This was a cite and release warrant for a credit card fraud investigated by the Morristown Police Department. Magee was issued a citation to appear in the Superior Court of Vermont, Lamoille Division, for Friday, July 25. He was never taken into custody and released from the scene.
The store manager at Tops Friendly Market reported a shoplifter on June 25 at about 4 p.m. The store video surveillance captured Joie Miller, of Hardwick, stealing two six packs of beer from the establishment. Miller was issued a citation to appear on August 25 in Caledonia Superior Court, Criminal Division, for the charge of retail theft.
On July 28 at 9:30 p.m., Hardwick Police responded to Rte. 15 E in Hardwick for a report of a two-vehicle crash. The operator, Ann Gilcris, of Hardwick, was operating a Honda CRV and was turning left into her driveway. As Gilcris was turning left the operator of the second vehicle, Craig Devenger, of West Danville, who was operating a Ford Edge, came around the curve and collided with Gilcris. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and there were no injuries.
