MARSHFIELD – The Twinfield-Cabot boys basketball wrapped up an intense summer hoops season with some highly competitive contests against division II Spaulding and U-32 as they prep for their summer ending Twinfield-Cabot Youth Hoops Camp next week.
The Trojans made it back to the Barre Auditorium for the first time in nearly a decade this past March in head coach Kris Bador’s second season on the sidelines. A last second shot by Danville’s Kohl Guinard denied Bador’s young squad a chance to capture their first state title since the legendary Chad Copeland led the program to back-to-back division IV championships in 2011-12. Bador returns his entire team next winter and he didn’t let them rest on their laurels this off-season as they squared off against predominantly Division II programs, an undefeated Woodsville team across the border, and defending Division I champion Burlington.
“We competed against U-32 and Spaulding last week, the boys continue to play well together, and we were very happy with both outcomes. We’re implementing some new sets on both sides of the ball. Sam McLane and Sam Churchill are really starting to turn it up off of their injuries from last season, and as a group we are really starting to click. This group continues to work at staying healthy, hungry and humble. We had a great summer with the kids working extremely hard, and it’s important that they bring that same work ethic to the soccer field this fall. We’re really excited for Youth Camp; it’s a big week for us and youth basketball in the community. The youngsters who signed up are getting a big surprise this year with who’s coming in!” said Bador.
Twinfield-Cabot Youth Hoops Camp starts next Monday and runs through Thursday. The camp is co-ed with grades 3-5 training from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and grades 6-8 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
