NORTHFIELD – East Calais native Caitlyn Fielder and her record-breaking Norwich University women’s lacrosse team continued to stack up the awards and honors last week, adding several from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
Fielder and her Lady Cadet team were selected as a 2025 IWLCA Honor Squad, exceeding the 3.20 GPA threshold required for selection. The former U-32 star was also honored individually, along with seven of her teammates for maintaining a 3.50 GPA or higher. Graduating senior and former Stowe standout Ellie Moriarty joined Fielder on the 2025 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. Neris Archambault, Carlie Henning, Celine Juneau, Julia Proto, Athena Merck, and Leocadia Clark (Rice Memorial) rounded out the distinguished honorees for Norwich.
The dynamic duo led Norwich to a program record 15-win season this past spring, advancing to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Final Four for the first time in over a decade. Fielder had a monster sophomore season for Norwich, leading the team in goals scored with a career-high 47. The speedy midfielder also recorded 10 hat-tricks for the Lady Cadets, including five goal games on three different occasions throughout last season. Fielder has now scored 85 career goals in just 33 games and joined Moriarty as a GNAC First Team selection back in May. Moriarty capped off a brilliant career for Norwich with a team leading 39 assists, ranking in the top 65 nationally. The senior attacker holds the all-time assist record for the Lady Cadets with 96.
Norwich head coach Ian Thomas was named GNAC Coach of the Year in his fourth season at the helm after leading his squad to the most single season wins in program history.
Norwich will look to follow up their historic season when they get back to GNAC play next February at Sabine Field in Haynes Family Stadium.
