Car crashes, excessive speeding
DANVILLE – On December 3, at approximately 5:54 p.m., state police were conducting routine patrol on U.S. 2 in Danville. A vehicle was observed traveling west, near the intersection of Jamieson Road, at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was traveling at 92 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as Gabriel Riley. He was taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing. Riley was subsequently released with a citation for Excessive Speed and is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Court – Criminal Division on January 12, 2026.

MARSHFIELD – On December 7, at approximately 6;56 a.m., the Vermont State Police were notified of a vehicle that had crashed into a Green Mountain Power telephone pole on U.S. Route 2 in the town of Marshfield. Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene and observed that the vehicle had caused significant damage to the GMP telephone pole. Investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Gabriel Riley, left the scene and railed to report the crash to VSP. Riley was issued a criminal citation for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Washington Unit Criminal Division on January 15, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
WALDEN – On December 7, at approximately 2:41 p.m., Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Vermont Rt. 15 near Lower Harrington Hill in Walden. The operator and sole occupant was identified as Judy Parker. It was found that Parker was travelling southbound on Vt. Route 15 when the vehicle departed the roadway, striking a utility pole and rolling on its roof. Parker was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for suspected serious injuries.
