
EAST MONTPELIER – On January 15 at 5:30 p.m., Vermont State Police – Berlin Barracks received a call for a single vehicle crash at 2528 County Road in the town of East Montpelier. The operator at the scene was identified as Gavin Deiss. Troopers responded to the scene, and subsequent investigation revealed Deiss was operating his motor vehicle while impaired. Deiss was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. He was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing without incident. He was later released with a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Washington Unit, Criminal Division on February 12 at 12:30 p.m.
NEW HAVEN – On January 18 at approximately 8:31 p.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a traffic stop after multiple observed motor vehicle violations on U.S. Route 7 near the intersection with S. Middlebrook Road in the town of New Haven. The operator was identified as Nicolas L. Garcia of Marshfield. While speaking to Garcia, troopers observed indicators of impairment. Garcia was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the New Haven Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Garcia was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on March 16 at 12:30 p.m.

PLAINFIELD – On January 25 at 12:58 p.m., Vermont State Police received a report of a vehicle being operated erratically on Route 2 in Plainfield. A Fish and Wildlife Warden was in the area and stopped the vehicle. The operator, identified as Holly Nutter, showed signs of impairment, and State Police arrested her for suspicion of DUI. She was processed at the Berlin Barracks and later released with a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division on February 12 at 8:30 a.m.
