HARDWICK – The Hardwick Academy/Hazen Union Alumni Association will have a new addition to its upcoming 2026 alumni weekend: the association has teamed up with Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro to host a kick-off event at the brewery on Thursday, June 18.
All alumni, family and friends will meet at the brewery from 3 to 5 p.m. for a social to help jump-start the alumni weekend.
Hill Farmstead, a craft beer brewery, celebrated its fifteenth anniversary last year, led by Hazen Union alum Shaun Hill. The Hill family has a long history in the tavern business, including the first tavern built in the Greensboro area by Aaron Hill in 1809.
The brewery is located at 403 Hill Road in Greensboro Bend.
The brewery event will be followed on Friday, June 19, with the eighth edition of the Master’s Memorial Golf Tournament at Mountain View Country Club in Greensboro. The tournament honors local golfers who have passed and has become a fundraiser. Proceeds from the tourney are used to award monetary gifts to some Hazen Union seniors. There are two tee times for the golf tourney, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and the tourney is open to all golfers, not just alumni. Tournament sign-up forms can be downloaded from the alumni website: hardwickhazenalumni.com.
On Saturday, June 20, the HA/HU Alumni Association will be hosting the annual alumni reunion at the Brochu Pavilion in Hardwick, located at 2244 West Hill Road, starting at 11 a.m. and continuing into the late afternoon. Five-year classes ending in 6 and 1 will be honored, The reunion is open to all classes, all alumni, family and staff. Registration forms for the reunion can be downloaded at hardwickhazenalumni.com
