The Hardwick Gazette Needs You

Dear Friend of The Hardwick Gazette,

We need your help this holiday season. Black Friday may not generate the shopping frenzy in our area that it does elsewhere and many of us appreciate the area for that.

When you’re thinking of gifts this season, consider making a giftThe Gazette in your name, or as a gift for someone who lives in, or visits the area, and depends on us.

People Depend on The Gazette

When your select board, school board or other public body is deciding important issues, who’s on hand to tell you what’s going on? Reporters for The Hardwick Gazette, the only news outlet devoted to the 11 communities in our service area, from Wolcott to Stannard and from Craftsbury to Plainfield.

Without The Gazette, there would be no reporters at these meetings. We’re there to be your eyes and ears, to bring you the good news (Woodbury approves flood mitigation) and the not-so-good (incivility at the Greensboro board). To the best of our ability, we report the news fully and fairly.

The Gazette is much more, of course. Every week, we bring you complete coverage of school sports, reviews of the performing arts, a calendar of events, opinion essays and letters to the editor, among many other things.

Support The Gazette

This venture depends on reader support. If you appreciate our coverage, please assign a dollar value to your readership. As we approach Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, this is a great time to make a donation to your community-owned nonprofit newspaper.

Gifts of any amount are appreciated; if you can make a monthly donation of $5 a month or more, you’ll be helping to create a solid financial foundation for our work. If you’re able to make a major gift of $500, $1,000 or more, you’ll be ensuring that The Gazette is available to all.

One-time or recurring donations can be given at https://hardwickgazette.org/donate/ or by mail to P.O. Box 9, Hardwick, VT 05843.

Thank you from the Board of Northeast Kingdom Public Journalism, The Hardwick Gazette staff, our volunteers and our contributors.

The Hardwick Gazette is now a community-owned, non-profit publication of Northeast Kingdom Public Journalism. We depend on your donation to support our mission of producing fair and accurate local journalism, shining a light on all aspects of our communities and creating a forum for deeper engagement.
