EAST CRAFTSBURY – On October 15, the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church hosted a service of ordination for their new pastor, now the Reverend Joseph Welker V.  Ordination is the official service of the presbytery, the regional body of the Presbyterian Church, that confers the status of being a minister of the Word and Sacrament.  The congregation was joined by officials and members of the presbytery and by a number of family and friends of the new pastor who came to participate in the celebration. The Reverend Sally Newhall, moderator of the Presbytery of Northern New England, conducted the ordination service. Welker is a recent graduate of Harvard Divinity School. He began serving the East Craftsbury church in August.
