EAST CRAFTSBURY – The winner of Craftsbury Community Care Center’s spring raffle tickets to the April 12 Boston Celtics game against the Charlotte Hornets, Ric Cengeri, reports a “magical” time. Cengari, who purchased his raffle chance at Hardwick Town Meeting, said that Boston was “absolutely buzzing” due to Boston Marathon weekend and the Celtics being top seed in the East.
Thanks to a Care Center supporter, Cengeri had seats just a few rows behind the Hornets’ bench. Cengeri says a serious Vermont flavor prevailed that night: a Colchester resident sat in front of them, a UVM grad sat in front of her, and Hornets coach Steve Clifford grew up in Newport.
Craftsbury Community Care Center, a non-profit residential care home in the Northeast Kingdom serving area elders of all socioeconomic sectors, offered the Sports Adventures raffle as part of its 2024 fundraising. In addition to the Celtics game, area residents had chances at a signed Boston Bruins puck, a four-person golf package at Mountain View Country Club, Jay Peak lift tickets, a Celtics basketball, Craftsbury Outdoor Center benefits, and rentals from Mountain Ops in Stowe.
