Hardwick Gazette Readers Match 50% of $12,000 Offer

HARDWICK — Less than 30 days after publishing its first free edition, readers have shown their commitment to supporting local journalism by contributing almost $6,000 toward the $12,000 matching gift incentive.    A benefactor has encouraged readers in the 11-town Hardwick Gazette coverage area to support the non-profit in its first months by offering to match readers’ gifts dollar-for-dollar.

Readers may contribute to double the impact of their gift with matching funds. Many Hardwick Gazette readers have taken advantage of this offer. Almost 100 readers have shown they value the news, community events coverage, and sports reporting featured weekly in The Gazette’s pages by taking advantage of the matching offer. There’s no limit to how much of a gift will be matched, up to the remaining $6,000.

Readers have already shown how important the Hardwick Gazette’s local news coverage is to them by making their contribution during the first month of the non-profit.

Board member Paul Fixx said, “Now is the time to support independent, fair and unbiased local news by making your donation before this offer runs out.”

Readers may have their gift matched by clicking on the donate button at HardwickGazette.org, or by clicking on “Sign Up for a Weekly Edition Here” to make a contribution and to sign up for the Gazette’s email alert service at the same time.
