4-H Spring Showcase Features Local Talent

LYNDONVILLE – On April 6, 4-H members from 14 clubs in Caledonia, Essex, Lamoille and Orleans Counties traveled to Lyndon Town School in Lyndonville for the 2024 Northeast Regional 4-H Spring Showcase.

Throughout the day, the 4-Hers demonstrated what they have learned through their 4-H projects and club activities by presenting action exhibits, stage acts, demonstrations and illustrated talks. They also entered photographs, posters and tabletop exhibits along with modeling clothes in a fashion revue and as smart shoppers. For the latter, the 4-Hers showed off their fashion sense and shopping savvy with an outfit purchased with a $25 budget.

The top entry in most categories received a rosette ribbon. For posters and tabletop exhibits, the best entry from each county earned a rosette ribbon.

Entries from the Gazette coverage area that qualified for 4-H State Day, slated for May 4 in Barre, included the following:

From Caledonia County, Adrian Holbrook and Ryan Holbrook, both from Hardwick qualified in the Photography category.

From Lamoille County, Amalie Pratt of Wolcott was the rosette ribbon winner for her Tabletop Exhibit “What is Canine Scent Work.” LeighAnn Judd, also of Wolcott qualified with her Action Exhibit, her entry in the Photography category and for her Tabletop Exhibit “How to Make Maple Syrup.”
