HARDWICK, GREENSBORO – The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. In this area, help is available in-person at the Senior Center, 58 High Street, Hardwick, Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; at the Greensboro Free Library, 53 Wilson St., Greensboro, Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.; at Sterling View Community Center, 292 Sterling View Road, Hyde Park, Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.; and at Twin Valley Senior Center, 4583 U.S. Route 2, E Montpelier, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. AARP membership is not required to use the service.
People can choose to have an IRS-certified volunteer prepare their taxes or provide coaching so they can prepare themselves.
