HARDWICK – Wade Cochran is back at work as the director of enforcement and safety at the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) following an FBI investigation into his activities prior to his employment there.
The Caledonian Record reported the Agency of Transportation Secretary Joe Flynn said the FBI has determined there was no basis for a complaint made against him while he served on the FBI Violent Crime Task Force in Vermont while he was employed by the Montpelier Police Department.
Cochran had joined the DMV in August 2023 and was placed on leave January 4, 2024, while the investigation was conducted.
Cochran was a member of the Hardwick Police Department early in his career. He is the brother of former Hardwick Police Chief Aaron Cochran, who resigned from that role in October 2022.
