Share article

WOODBURY – CV Fiber hosted a “coffee and connectivity” event Saturday morning, Nov. 2, in Woodbury, to provide information and answer questions about high-speed, broadband internet that recently became available in much of the town.

CV Fiber representatives Kitty Ufford-Chase and Tonya Ozone explain the newly available high-speed, broadband, fiber internet that recently came on line in much of Woodbury. They spoke with about 35 townspeople who attended a coffee hour Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Woodbury Community Library.

About 35 townspeople attended to hear which areas in Woodbury are on line and where service is available, mostly on the west side of Vt. Rte. 14, with construction planned for the remaining areas of town, most of which will be completed by the end of next year.

Among those attending were residents who have been connected in recent months who described what a “game-changer” it is to have high-speed internet.

Earlier this year CV Fiber merged with NEK Broadband to accelerate providing service to 71 towns in central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom. It is a community nonprofit, bringing high-speed broadband to rural areas. Each town has a member on the municipal organization’s governing board.

John Reid is Woodbury’s representative to NEKCV dba NEK Broadband.
