WOODBURY – CV Fiber hosted a “coffee and connectivity” event Saturday morning, Nov. 2, in Woodbury, to provide information and answer questions about high-speed, broadband internet that recently became available in much of the town.
About 35 townspeople attended to hear which areas in Woodbury are on line and where service is available, mostly on the west side of Vt. Rte. 14, with construction planned for the remaining areas of town, most of which will be completed by the end of next year.
Among those attending were residents who have been connected in recent months who described what a “game-changer” it is to have high-speed internet.
Earlier this year CV Fiber merged with NEK Broadband to accelerate providing service to 71 towns in central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom. It is a community nonprofit, bringing high-speed broadband to rural areas. Each town has a member on the municipal organization’s governing board.
