Hazen Students Kept Inside Last Tuesday

Share article

HARDWICK — Following the statewide threat of school shootings for Tuesday, April 8, Police Chief Michael Henry spoke with Hazen Union School Principal Jason Di Giulio Monday evening, April 7.

Di Guilio decided to keep students inside all day that Tuesday. β€œIt’s our responsibility to take every threat seriously until we get the all clear from law enforcement,” he said.

β€œWe had increased patrols around the Hardwick schools all day on Tuesday and there have been sporadic patrols all week,” Henry reported.

The threat was eventually determined to be a hoax according to a Vermont State Police report Tuesday.

β€œBy early Tuesday afternoon we received the all clear from Hardwick Police and I passed that information along to the school community,” said Di Guilio.

β€œWe do not have any evidence of suspicious activity,” said Henry, Thursday, April 10.
