HARDWICK — At the January 24 special meeting of the Hardwick Select Board, the main order of business was to review and approve the warning for town meeting.
In addition to standard articles requesting voters’ approval of next year’s budget ($3,736,029) and authorizing the select board to conduct business, the warning proposes the following amounts for community organizations in and around Hardwick: Greensboro Nursing Home ($4,500). AWARE ($3,500). Lamoille Family Center ($2,500). Hardwick Historical Society ($3,000), NEK Human Services ($3,161), Hardwick Area Food Pantry ($2,500), Caledonia Home Health Care and Hospice ($2,600), Hardwick Community Television ($3,000), Rural Community Transportation ($3,400), NEK Council on Aging ($4,500), North Country Animal League ($2,100), Craftsbury Community Care Center ($1,500).
Board member Shari Cornish shared that Mark Rowell will be opening a restaurant in the space formerly occupied by the Scale House and that Hardwick has received its formal Downtown Designation (see related article).
