Local naturalist Jerry Schneider shows a bat box to community members on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Memorial Building in Hardwick, during his slide presentation and talk “All About Bats”. Schneider described the benefits of bats in the environment, where local bats go for the winter, and how they are adapting to the White Nose Syndrome that has killed nearly 6 million bats in New England. The event is one in a series of nature-based events sponsored by the Hardwick Conservation Commission.
