CABOT – The Cabot Community Theater is seeking actors for the Spring production of “Anne of Green Gables.”
Children, teens and adults are needed for parts both large and small in this play, based on the book by L.M. Montgomery. There are over 30 speaking roles (including some parts for older women!), and non-speaking ensemble parts are also possible. Some roles (Anne and a few others) will be divided up so that more young people can have an opportunity to perform a lead role, and make the memorization and rehearsal commitment more manageable.
Auditions were held on January 7, and will be held on Sunday, January 13, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Cabot School Performing Arts Center (CSPAC), at 25 Common Road, behind the main school building. No appointment is needed: come ready to read from the script, and to stay for 30 to 40 minutes to read with various people.
For those who are not good sight-readers, prepare a short monologue (memorized or not) to demonstrate acting skills. Auditioners may request to see pages of the script ahead of time to prepare. If seeking a non-speaking part, come to auditions to meet and chat.
Rehearsals will be held on weekend afternoons, with some weekday rehearsals for larger parts in late afternoons or early evenings. Most people will have one or two rehearsals a week: the schedule will depend on cast availability. Performances will be May 2 to May 5, in CSPAC.
Those interested in helping out with sets, costumes, props, or any other area, or have any questions about auditions, or want to audition but can’t make either of the dates, email [email protected] or call (802) 793-5617.
