Hazen Union’s Caitlyn Davison was once again the best player on the court on Saturday, scoring a game-high 12 points, hitting the game-winning free throw, and securing the game clinching steal to help the Division III/IV North All-Stars down the South 49-46. Davison was fresh off a school record 34-point performance in the state title game to help the Lady Cats win their first state championship since 1991. Davison will go down as an all-time great in Hardwick and finishes her career as a champion with nearly 1,200 points, two Vermont Dream Dozen selections, and back-to-back Player of the Year honors in the Mountain League.

Thetford Academy’s Whitney Lewis and Kelsie Bogie combined for 14 more points in the win. Windsor senior Sydney Perry put a bow on her brilliant career with eight points for the South.

White River Valley 1,000-point scorer Tanner Drury tied an all-time record with 17 makes to win the Division III/IV three-point contest. Colchester’s Nicole Norton set a new record later in the afternoon with 18 makes to take the three-point crown in the Division I/II. Joining Davison on the North All-Star squad was Hazen teammate Tessa Luther, a three-year starter for the Lady Cats.

On the boys’ side, Rivendell Academy’s Finn O’Donnell poured in a game-high 18 points to power the North Division III/IV All-stars to a dominant 94-65 victory over the South. Richford’s Carter Blaney added 12 and Randoph’s Evan Davignon chipped in with 10 in the win. Hazen’s Xavier Hill added a solid nine-point effort and Twinfield-Cabot’s Meles Gouge complimented with seven of his own. Gouge ends his career in Marshfield as a three-year starter and elite defender for the Trojan program. Hill led the Wildcats to a top seed in Division III in his senior campaign, scoring a career-high 18 points per game, and setting a program record with three triple doubles on the year. He ends his career with a 2021-22 state championship and a pair of Vermont Dream Dozen selections. Joining Hill and Gouge on the North All-Star roster were Twinfield-Cabot’s Sam Russell and Danville’s Cooper Calkins and Anthoni Guinard. Russell set individual career highs in scoring as a senior for the Trojans and Calkins and Guinard were key starters for a top-seeded Bears team that made it to the Division IV state title game.

Rivendell’s Jacoby Patterson had 18 makes to win the Division III/IV three-point contest. Rice’s Drew Bessette shattered the all-time record with an eye popping 27 makes to take the Division I/II crown. Bessette will be heading to the University of Vermont in the fall. St. Johnsbury Academy All-Stars Hayden Wilkins and Harry Geng led their teams in scoring in a pair of wins in the Division I/II match-ups to complete a clean sweep for the North on Saturday.
