Headless Horseman Rides in One-Man Show, Oct. 4

ST. JOHNSBURY – Catamount Arts and the Upright Steeple Society will present the award-winning actor J.T. Turner performing, “Washington Irving’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” at York Street Meeting House, on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m.

The Headless Horseman rides again in this solo show. J.T. Turner portrays American author Washington Irving performing his most famous tale, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Turner brings to life all the characters of this Halloween tale for a family-friendly evening of story theater.

J.T. Turner’s one-man show of Washington Irving’s “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is an hour-long, family-friendly production, scheduled for October 4, at 7 p.m., at the York Street Meeting House.

SAF-AFTRA and AEA member J.T. Turner is an award-winning stage, screen, and audio actor, teaching, artist, speaker based in the Northeast Kingdom. Turner has toured theaters, museums, schools, universities, historical sites, libraries, and senior centers all over North America, performing original one-man shows including, “Robert Frost, Light and Dark,” “The Adventures of Benjamin Franklin,” “Shakespeare’s Ghost,” “A Visit with C.S. Lewis,” “Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol,” “John Muir: Father of America’s Parks,” “A Visit with John Steinbeck,” and “Fitzgerald & Gatsby,” as well as storytelling, mindful movement, and theater education programs.

Turner’s original play “Within These Walls” was featured at the Smithsonian Museum of American History and awarded an Essex National Heritage Pioneer in Partnerships Award. His “Mill Talk: The Charles Dickens Lectures” was commissioned by the Lowell Institute & Charles River Museum of Industry, and he has served as an on-camera historical consultant on The Travel Channel. He’s been awarded multiple Pinnacle Awards from the Center of Interactive Learning and Collaboration.
