“Hunger is Scary” Benefit Gravel Ride, Oct. 26

HARDWICK — Riverside Cycles and the Hardwick Area Food Pantry host a 10-mile gravel ride or social ride on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT), Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m., leaving from Hazen Union School.

Registration fees and donations will go to the Hardwick Area Food Pantry to help expand food access and choice in the region. Riverside Cycles will be open at 8 a.m. for parts or quick repairs. Riders can meet at Riverside Cycles, 4 South Main St. Suite 3, Hardwick, after the ride for BYO post-ride drinks and snacks.

The 10-mile gravel route will head up Bridgman Hill from Hazen Union School and out to Greensboro behind Caspian Lake, then back on Hardwick Street, picking up the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail in East Hardwick to return to Hardwick.

The LVRT ride will be an out and back ride towards Morrisville at a self-determined pace and distance.

All ages, abilities and bikes are welcome. Bike-safe costumes are encouraged. The event will be held rain or shine. Register at nourishhardwick.org/ride
