New Coaches for Local Track and Field Teams

Share article

HARDWICK, CRAFTSBURY — A couple of new faces will step in to lead local high school programs this spring as Maxfield English takes over the Hazen Union track and field team and Kyle Anderson will do the same at Craftsbury Academy (CA).

English replaces Kathy Fortmann after seven years of building numbers and enthusiasm for the Wildcat track and field program. An accomplished runner himself, English helped create the cross-country program at Danville as their head coach for six years and took over Mike LeVangie’s legendary cross-country program at CA last fall.

Kyle Anderson will take over head coaching duties for the CA track and field team this spring, replacing Sarah Hunt. He’ll be assisted by Jess Barber, who led the program two years ago.

Weather permitting, the high school track and field season is scheduled to kick off on April 15 at BFA-St. Albans.
