Author Stanciu to launch book tour in Hardwick, June 30

HARDWICK – Writer Brett Stanciu is celebrating the publication of her second novel, “Call it Madness, with a book launch event on Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m., in the Parker Ladd Community Room at the Jeudevine Memorial Library. Stanciu’s discussion of her novel will be followed by a question-and-answer session, cake, and time for readers to purchase books to be signed by the author. The event is co-hosted by The Galaxy Bookshop. 

The protagonist of “Call it Madness” is Avah Lavoie, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when her estranged mother phones with news of her great-grandfather’s death.

Brett Stanciu is the author of “Hidden View” and “Unstitched,” a work of non-fiction. Recipient of a 2020 Vermont Arts Council Creation Grant and a 2024 Fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center for the Arts. Stanciu lives in Hardwick, in a century-old house built for granite workers and surrounded by lilacs.
