Wolcott Bridge detour continues, one lane traffic pending

Share article

WOLCOTT – The School Street Bridge over the Lamoille River remains fully closed to all traffic. The closure is in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is anticipated to continue until September 25. A signed detour guides motorists around the bridge closure to access School Street via Flat Iron Road and Vermont Route 15. Motorists are advised to follow signage and plan travel accordingly. Next week motorists can expect an intermittent lane closure on Vt. Rte. 15, on either side of the Vt. 15 and School Street intersection. As needed, alternating one-way traffic will be controlled by flaggers, on weekdays, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Next week crews will continue to back fill at both abutments. Crews will also prepare the site for the structural steel that is expected to arrive late next week.
