Vikings steamroll to Division II Final Four

Share article

LYNDON CENTER – Coming off a first-round bye, the Lyndon Institute baseball team dominated seventh-seeded Spaulding last week to advance to the semifinals in the Division II State Tournament.

Logan Wheeler and Griffin Lawson combined for six hits and four RBIs to lead the second-seeded Vikings to a 14-5 quarterfinal home win over the Crimson Tide last Friday. Jackson Dwyer struck out four and walked none in a complete game effort to earn the win. Danville senior Sebastian Eldred has been a key contributor in the heart of the Vikings’ lineup all season as they find themselves one win away from the Division II state title game.

Lyndon (12-2) is set to host No. 3 Otter Valley on Wednesday, looking for its sixth consecutive win. If the Vikings advance, they will face the winner of No. 1 Mount Abraham vs. No. 5 U-32 at Centennial Field on Friday.
