CRAFTSBURY – Wolcott’s Maxfield English and Craftsbury’s Alayne Tetor dusted the field over the weekend in the 7th Annual Genny Tenny, their second wins of the season on the Central Vermont Runners (CVR) Circuit.

English completed the 10-mile dirt road race connecting the villages of Craftsbury and Albany in 1:02:35. Cabot’s Dahe Stoddard edged Craftsbury’s Alayne Tetor by a tenth of a second for runner-up honors. English coaches track and field at Hazen Union and cross-country at Craftsbury Academy. A multiple winner on the CVR circuit in 2025, English is well on his way to a repeat performance this season after winning the Adamant Half Marathon last month.

Tetor (54) also won in Adamant and was the first female to cross the line in Albany by nearly seven minutes with a time of 1:08:47. Tetor finished an impressive third overall. Morrisville’s Clare Salerno (29) earned runner-up honors over East Hardwick’s Emma Podolin by 24 seconds. East Hardwick’s Josh Gould recorded a top ten finish, followed by Craftsbury Common’s Will Decherd (11), Craftsbury’s Eloise Girard (12), Greensboro’s Henry Peck (13), Craftsbury Common’s Jennifer Land Mackenzie (14) and Craftsbury Common’s Mel Sergiev (15). In the 5k run, Wolcott’s Oakley Crawford (15) crossed the finish line 20 seconds ahead of Craftsbury Common’s Nils Koons (37) to claim the crown with a time of 15:47. Crawford had an impressive freshman campaign for the Craftsbury Academy cross-country team last fall, posting a pair of top-five finishes and three more top tens. Charger freshman teammate James Reynolds finished fifth overall on Sunday. Craftsbury Common’s Eli Davis (16) finished third overall and Morrisville’s Bowman Suddaby (14) finished fourth.

Fresh off her impressive performance at the Division III Track & Field State Championships last week, Aemilia Terrone (seventh overall) claimed the female title in the 5K with a time of 19:13. Morrisville’s Hadley Abbene earned runner-up honors, 14 seconds behind. Ten-year-old Ruthie Podolin of East Hardwick was the third female to cross the line in Albany, Craftsbury’s Cydney Terrone (46) and Greensboro’s Eleanor Hammond (14) rounded out the top five.

Craftsbury Common’s Margaret Fogg (67) took home first-place honors in the 5K Walk, ahead of Craftsbury’s Valerie Mesa (70).

The annual 10-mile run started on Creek Road in Craftsbury Village and finished at the Genny in Albany on Water Street. The event was sponsored by the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and The Genny as a fundraiser for the Albany Community Trust.
